Registration for Tackle Football is a 3 step process.
STEP 1: Football Ontario Registration
Registration with Football Ontario ensures that your child is insured prior to taking the field. You will be given an Ontario Football number (FO-####-#####) which is required for the next 2 steps. A separate Football Ontario registration is required for each program your child takes part in. If they choose to play both Flag and Tackle, they must register separately for each for Football Ontario.
Step 2: NCAFA Registration
All players will be required to register with NCAFA. You will require your Football Ontario (FO-####-#####) Player Number in this step.
STEP 3: Wolverines Club Payment
Payment can be made by credit card or e-transfer.
The flag season begins after the end of Winter Workouts.
At this point we focus on age-specific teams and practice sessions.
From Middle of April to May 15th …expect approximately 4 to 5 gym or dome sessions running 1 to 1.5 hrs in length.
After the middle of May expect 2 practices a week Monday to Thursday.
Practice nights will be determined by coaches, players and parents. This is to make the schedule flexible and what works best for the players and coaches on that specific team.
We will practice at Stonecrest Elementary School or West Carleton Secondary School.
The National Capital Amateur Football Association ( our league) is a City-Wide league. With that in mind, we can expect to play games in multiple locations from West Carleton to Cumberland. So some travel for games is expected.
Our home field is West Carleton Secondary School
Games are typically played on Friday Nights and Sundays. This is determined by NCAFA and is subject to change.
Games will begin the Friday after May Long Weekend and end the last Sunday of June.
Please plan to play every Friday and Sunday during these dates. Some doubleheaders can also be expected. The total # of games will be 11 -14
Games will be played at home-field WCSS or expect to travel across Ottawa to play various teams.
The game schedule typically comes out around the May Long
Yes! Safety is a priority with our club. Injuries, although rare, do happen and parents need to be present in case of this. If you are unable to attend practice or a game with your child you must designate an emergency contact to your coaches and make sure that parent knows they are responsible for your child.
Practice will only be cancelled when weather poses a danger to players. We do not cancel practice because of rain. If the weather poses a threat we will make a call at the practice or the game.
